Precious Metal Clay is 99.9%  pure fine silver clay which can be manipulated, shaped and
formed into beautiful works of art.  Fine particles of silver or gold are suspended in an
organic binder and water and once kiln or torch firing takes place, the result is a 100% pure
silver or gold object.
In the early 1990s
Mitsubishi Materials Corporation of Japan first developed the material
we now know as PMC.  After many years of redefining it,  PMC hit the US markets.   A
structured program was created to ensure the continued development of the clay as well as
to set standards on a curriculum program called certification.  This 2 part certification
program assures that the instructors who teach PMC have been appropriately trained and
that you as the "student" are learning how to use the product effectively.
The PMC Guild
was then created to help maintain the program standards as well as having a forum for PMC
artists to communicate.
Now that you know a little bit more about PMC why not take a class?  Classes are available
at many locations.  Besides my home studio here in
the Frederick Maryland area , I teach at:
Frederick Community College
Beads and Crystals, Scranton Pennsylvania
Artway Studios Damascus Maryland

Check out the PMC Class section to find out more about classes and schedules.

THE NEW BRONZE CLAY IS HERE!
Just like precious metal PMC does, new base-metal clay, BronzClay provides an incredible artistic range.  And because
it is bronze, it is also so economical that you can use it for large pieces, even sculpture.  BronzClay can be pinched,
rolled, textured, molded to create amazing one of a kind beautiful pieces.  The color is amazing as well.  The firing
process is very different than PMC and requires a firing container and charcoal.  You can learn more about this new
and amazing materials in an upcoming class.  Check out the Class page for more details and watch for new pictures of
this amazing new material.
